Automotive Technician

The Garvey Automotive Group is looking for a full-time employee to hire as our next Automotive / Mechanic Technician. The candidate we are seeking is qualified, trained, and equipped.

At Garvey Volkswagen our mechanics are responsible for the repair of all new and pre-owned vehicles sold by the Garvey Automotive Group, as well as off make vehicles brought in by our customers for repair. They maintain factory certification and their own supply of key tools. We help provide training and ASE certifications for those mechanics that wish to improve their skills. With modern shop equipment and technician tools our techs perform multipoint walk around and video MPIs on every vehicle. At Garvey we know technicians are our customers most trusted point of contact at the dealership, so we strive for a 100% fixed-right-the-first-time ratio and high levels of technician proficiency. We mechanics also need to be customer service oriented and able to communicate with our clients to answer any questions they have about their vehicles.

A well-qualified candidate will:

Have experience as an automotive technician
Have entry level technical certifications

An extremely well qualified candidate will:

Hold any level ASE certification
Be manufacturer certified by Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia
Be a Level B Tech
Have a NYS Inspector’s License

Master Technician

Garvey Kia is actively hiring a Master Technician / A-Level Automotive Technician to join our brand-new, state-of-the-art 25,000 sq ft dealership. We are seeking an experienced A-Level Tech with advanced diagnostic skills who can efficiently identify and repair complex vehicle issues on Kia vehicles and other makes brought in by customers.

Top candidates will have proven experience as a Master Technician or Kia Certified Technician, with the ability to handle advanced diagnostics, electrical systems, engine repair, and full vehicle service. We will also consider highly skilled B-Level Technicians ready to advance to an A-Level role.

What You’ll Do:

Diagnose and repair Kia and other vehicles efficiently
Handle complex electrical, drivability, engine, and HVAC repairs
Perform full vehicle inspections and fix-it-right-the-first-time
Communicate clearly with service advisors and customers

Qualifications:

A-Level Technician / Master Technician experience
NYSI License required
Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
ASE certification or Kia certification preferred
Own professional tools

Schedule & Benefits:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM **OR** 4 10-hour days.

Car Detailer

Garvey Volkswagen is looking for a motivated and dependable Automotive Detailer / Car Detailer to join our growing dealership team. If you take pride in keeping vehicles spotless and customer-ready, we want to hear from you!

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in auto detailing, vehicle cleaning, car washing, automotive reconditioning, or dealership detailing who enjoys working in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Responsibilities:

Clean and detail new and pre-owned vehicles inside and out
Wash, wax, vacuum, shampoo, and polish vehicles to dealership standards
Prepare vehicles for customer delivery and showroom display
Ensure all vehicles are customer-ready and meet quality expectations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Assist with vehicle movement and lot organization as needed
Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and presentation quality

Qualifications:

Previous auto detailing, car detailing, or vehicle cleaning experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Ability to lift moderate weight and remain active throughout the day
Must be able to drive manual transmission vehicles
Valid and clean driver’s license required
Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
